Brave New World has built a reputation for innovative and exciting release parties and comic book themed events, and Mr. Dini’s annual Christmas party is the stuff of legend. Los Angeles the biggest holiday party ever. VIP invitations have already gone out, and while we can’t tell you just who is on the guest list, chances are that their names are on your bookshelves, CD racks, in your comic boxes and programmed into your Tivo harddrive.

 

From writing hit TV shows like ABC’s ‘Lost’, to co-creating the popular and long running Batman Animated series, and even bringing the world a super cute super villain in the form of Batman nemesis Harley Quinn, Paul Dini has always had a flair for the fantastic. He’s also always had an innate love of all things Christmas. His own character, Jingle Belle, Santa Claus’ precocious and rebellious teenage daughter, is the inspiration for the annual Jingle Ball.

 

This year’s Jingle Ball theme, ‘Nice & Naughty’, is designed to explore the side of the holidays that hasn’t been touched on since the days of Rankin and Bass and Rat Pack Christmas specials. With help from precious prestidigitator Misty Lee and her Illusions, the staff of Brave New World promise that this party will be one for the books. Comic books, that is. “The plans are amazing, the guest list is astounding, the new store is fantastic, and the party promises to be all of the above!”, says Atom!, Brave New World proprietor of pugnacious punctuation.

 

In addition to co-hosting the blow out shindig, Paul Dini will be signing the latest installment in the Dark Horse Comics published Jingle Ball series, Wednesday, December 13^th. This year’s book is illustrated by fan favorite Kyle Baker, and tells the story of Jingle and the Baker kids in the wildest winter team-up since Frosty met Rudolph.

While the Jingle Ball is a private party, fans who would like to hobnob with the bigwigs, swill nog with the creators, and swing with Jing need not fret. A few Fan Party Passes are being made available, via online auction to benefit the Hero Initiative.
