COMICS RETAILER STAYS UP LATE FOR CREATIVITY

NEWHALL - On April 24th, Brave New World Comics will be bringing Santa Clarita another exciting comic book happening. Following their wildly successful Free Comic Book Day, Brave New World will be taking part in the newest worldwide comics art event, 24 Hour Comics Day.

24 Hour Comics Day is an artistic challenge, conceived by comics scholar and theoritician Scott McCloud (author of the bestselling Understanding Comics), that encourages comics artists and creators to turn off their internal critic and create 24 pages of comics in 24 consecutive hours, a process that normally takes up to 6 weeks.

“Most 24 page comic books available on the shelves here at Brave New World are the result of literally months of work by teams of people. They take the full time attention Writers, Pencillers, Inkers, Colorists, and Editors. The idea that these talented people are ready to even try to create one in 24 continous hours is nothing short of amazing!” said Brave New World proprietor Atom!.

Brave New World will be open for business all 24 hours of the 24 Hour Comics Day event, from Noon on Saturday, April 24, to Noon Sunday, April 25. Artists and comics creators of every artistic level will be participating in the 24 Hour Comics Challenge on the floor of the award winning comics shop.
